Social media providers must step up fight against racism, say Kick It Out

Kick It Out saystime is running out for social media suppliers to behave on the spate of online racist abuse directed in footballers.

Kick It Out has warned social media suppliers need to do more to stamp out racism in their systems or confront the prospect of intervention.
After yesterdays Premier League fixture between Liverpool and Leicester City, Hamza Choudhury became the latest player to receive dreadful racist abuse – via lots of social networking platforms and at the comments section of numerous online articles, Kick It Out said in a statement to Sky Sports News.
Despite ongoing discussions about tacking this ever-increasing issue, we have yet to see any concrete steps set up to look after the players afflicted this abuse.
The time for speaking is fast running out and if action wont be accepted, the Government or a regulatory system must intervene and compel these programs to adopt measures to eliminate abuse, identify perpetrators and hold them to account.
Football authorities and Twitter in London met to discuss what could be done concerning the misuse of players on the media platform.
Sky Sports News understands football authorities held a meeting using Facebook.
