THE KOREAN ZOMBIE VS. RENATO MOICANO HEADLINES UFC GREENVILLE

Fans have been asking for weeks what the main event of UFC Fight Night 154 would be, and for the longest period, nobody knew. The event takes place June 22 at Bon Secours Wellness Arena in Greenville, South Carolina, and also local boy Stephen»Wonderboy» Thompson unavailable to fight soon after the beating he took against Anthony Pettis in March, it was difficult to predict who would headline the card.
Now we know.
The UFC declared this week that the main event of UFC Fight Night 154 is going to be a thrilling five-round featherweight fight between»The Korean Zombie» Chan Sung Jung and Renato Moicano. These are a couple of the best featherweights in the world, and this fight should be a good deal of fun. It May not be a title battle, but you’d be hard-pressed to view any fans complain about this struggle Jung (14-5) is coming from a last-second KO loss to Yair Rodriguez in UFC Fight Night 139 in one of the greatest MMA battles of all time. Jung was well on his way to winning the bout before he got caught with an unorthodox upwards elbow by Rodriguez in the 4:59 mark of the fifth round and suffered a shocking weight loss loss. The defeat dropped his overall UFC record but the fact he’s won six bucks in six UFC battles says everything about Jung. Lose or win, Jung is one of the fighters we’ve ever seen in this game. It’ll be tricky to recover from such a brutal KO after such a war of a struggle, but after taking over six weeks off to heal up, hopefully he’s 100 percent healthy and good to go for this fight. The reduction to Rodriguez knocked him from this featherweight title picture for now, but if he can conquer Moicano, he’ll jump right back in the mix.
Moicano (13-2-1) is coming off of a brutal KO reduction, this one to Jose Aldo back at UFC Fight Night 144. Like Jung, Moicano was winning the struggle until Aldo turned back the clock unleashed a violent flurry of strikes that transpired Moicano out. He’s still one of the featherweights in the world and 5-2 at the UFC. Aside from losses to Aldo and Brian Ortega — there’s no shame to shedding to either of those men — Moicano has been among the best featherweights in the UFC differently. Like Jung, he needs to rebound from his last loss to be able to rejoin the featherweight title mix, but there’s no reason to thing he can’t do it.
The chances for this battle should be interesting when they come outside, but when I had to guess, Moicano will be marginally favored. Bettors will probably be seeking to fade Jung coming off of the bad autumn while Moicano is somebody who constantly gets a lot of respect from the gambling public. But it’s definitely a close fight that could go either way, and MMA fans in Carolina ought to be excited that they landed such an exciting fight as the main event of UFC Fight Night 154.
